VOLUME 8  ·  PROGRAM 11

Our Miss Liberty, Patti LaBelle claims "You're Mine Tonight".  Raul & Steven Von Blau give One To One's "Angel In My Pocket" a high power remix.

Patti LaBelle's hairdos have been nothing less than electrifying lately, but quite tame compared to her debut MCA LP, "Winner In You".  How could it help but be a smash hit with such talents as Burt Bacharach, Carol Bayer Sager, Neil Diamond, Nicholas Ashford, Valerie Simpson, Richard Perry, Howie Rice and Budd Ellison involved in production and writing, a first single duet with Michael McDonald and incredibly commanding vocals by Patti throughout, "Winner In You" is a real winner.  Disconet has taken the album cut "You're Mine Tonight", and gave it everything it needed to make it a thriving high energy club record.

"Angel In My Pocket" by One To One, from the Warner Bros. LP "Forward Your Emotions", has been creating quite a furor in the club scene.  It has been a long time since so many people have run up to the D.J. booth to find out what record is playing.  Produced and originally mixed by Leslie Howe, it has now been specially remixed by Rusty Gardner.  Raul and Steven have gone one step further to take this cut high above the clouds and really excite your crowd.

SPECIAL NOTE TO DJs: Side A runs 15:53, from 138 BPM to 145 BPM. (beats per minute)

Jill and Ray Martinez are a "Match Made Up In Heaven".  "I Need Your Love" by Midnight Passion gets a romantic high energy mix.

Our ever prolific friend from the sunshine state, Ray Martinez, creator of such classic dance albums as "Amant" on T.K. Records and "Ray Martinez and Friends" on The Importe/12 Label, brings us his latest artist, Jill, on Paris International Records.  Jill's new 12", "Match Made Up In Heaven", was produced, composed, arranged, and mixed by Ray.  Sam Safirstein was the assistant engineer, and Ciro Llerena was the dance consultant.  Love that hot Miami music!!!

ZYX Records from Germany seem quite committed to presenting solid high energy dance records.  The latest, "I Need Your Love" by Midnight Passion, will have your summer crowd shaking and baking.  Produced by Crusin' Records, and arranged by Ennio Manuel, this 12" was mixed at Santana Studios by Ennio Manuel, Lello Saba and Ala Bianca.  Raul and Steven have added passion and surprises to make this into a stable summer high energy record.

SPECIAL NOTE TO DJs: Side B runs 12:28, from 118 BPM to 128 BPM.

Classic Denroy Morgan still says "I'll Do Anything For You".  This timeless mix by Raul & Frank Corr will give your floor a fresh groove.

For Denroy Morgan, the second time around is as good as the first.  This classic record first appeared on Disconet's Volume 4 Program 5.  Now it's back as a summer rerun special.  "I'll Do Anything For You", a Becket Records 12" was a radio and club hit back in 1981, and still sounds fresh and up to date.  This should be no surprise as Denroy had teamed up with Bert Reid and William Anderson for a timeless production.  Raul and Frank Corr (who's somewhat of a classic himself, and a good Disconet friend) had really done a spectacular job on this cut.  They combined the vocal and instrumental versions, restructured with an easy intro, added breaks, and lots of surprises.

SPECIAL NOTE TO DJs: Bonus Side 1 runs 8:09 at 119 BPM.

Fasten your seat belts!!!  "The Motorcade Sped On" by Steinski is going to take you for a ride.  Willie Colon's "Set Fire To Me" gets a hot Disconet mix.

Heeere's Steinski… Never one to keep his thoughts to himself, Steinski's fourth appearance on Disconet (his first without Double Dee) recalls the tragic loss of J.F.K.  This controversial new mix, "The Motorcade Sped On", is a Banff Zoom Music Production produced by Steve Stein and brought to you by Steinski & The Mass Media, along with a little help from far out D.J. E.T.  Fans will not be disappointed, as this is a musical tribute in the true Steinski tradition - pretty wild!

Willie Colon's new A & M 12", "Set Fire To Me", has become a real hot seller.  Produced by Willie Colon, mixed by Yvonne Turner, and engineered by Bob Blank, this tune has crowds burning up the dance floor.  With it's unique mixture of salsa and R&B, along with driving percussion, hypnotic piano work, and suggestive vocals, this record is a sure crossover dance hit.  Disconet's fiery edit will help keep the torch burning, and your floor hot!!

SPECIAL NOTE TO DJs: Bonus Side 2 runs 10:37, from 108 BPM to 117 BPM.
